About us
The Austin Community Foundation has established the Housing and Independent Living (HAIL) Task Force Special Project Fund to help our community address the critical shortage of housing options and independent living supports for Austin-area adults with autism and/or other intellectual/developmental disabilities (A/I/DD). The process is being underwritten by local funders and will be facilitated by First Place, which has conducted similar housing market analysis efforts in other cities and inspired collaborative solutions across public, private, nonprofit, and philanthropic sectors that can happen in Austin once local market data is collected and barriers are identified. Please join this effort and help drive future planning, funding, and public policy for increased access and resources for A/I/DD people in Austin and their families.
