Nothing About Us Without Us
The Housing and Independent Living (HAIL) Task Force was established to help our community address the critical shortage of housing options and living supports for adults with autism and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities (A/I/DD). The HAIL Task Force Austin Special Project Fund is a fiscally sponsored project at Austin Community Foundation.
The first step is to conduct a housing market study, facilitated by First Place, to inspire, collaborative solutions across public, private, nonprofit, and philanthropic sectors in Austin, as it has in other cities, once local market data is collected and barriers are identified. A growing number of collaboration partners are eager to learn from local A/I/DD individuals and their families to imagine and build a future of possibilities for our community.
